Yoyoka Soma was born in October 2009 in Ishikari-city, Hokkaido in Japan and currently resides in Oakland California.

In addition to playing the drums, she plays bass guitar, keyboard, and also composes music and write lyrics.

In June 2018, she won the weekly champion prize (at age eight, the youngest to win in history) in “Hit Like A Girl contest 2018” in the category of age 18 or under.  

In January and May 2019, she appeared two times on stage in The Ellen DeGeneres show. In August 2019, she made a surprise appearance on Fall Out Boy’s stage at Summer Sonic Tokyo 2019 in front of an audience of 20K people. In October 2019, she got an offer from Cyndi Lauper, a world-renowned singer, and performed together.   

In January 2020, she played drums as the youngest girl and the only Japanese drummer at the “Pearl” booth in “THE NAMM Show”. 

In January 2021, “DRUMMER WORLD”, a world renowned drum related website chose her as one of the world’s top 500 drummers at age 11, the youngest in history! 
In July 2021, she took a role in drum recording 18 pieces of music as a series of “Final Fantasy Pixel Remaster” by Square Enix.

YOYOKA moved to the United States in September 2022 with the hope of becoming an internationally renowned drummer and artist.

She has received accolades from artists such as Robert Plant (Led Zeppelin), Ian Paice (Deep Purple), Roger Taylor (Queen), Chad Smith (Red Hot Chili Peppers), Dave Grohl (Foo Fighters), Brad Wilk (Rage Against the Machine) , Gene Simmons (KISS), Eric Singer (KISS), Sheryl Crow, Tony Royster Jr., Anderson Paak, Chris Coleman, and Bootsy Collins.

YOYOKA is striving to bring energy and courage to people around the world through her drumming as well as becoming an artist who composes songs and plays a wide variety of instruments.

She aspires to use the power of her music to do as much as she can to help eliminate global social problems such as discrimination, poverty, and war.
